Three new scholarships have been recently endowed:

- Iota Sigma Chapter Scholarship
- Carole Jurenko Jones Honor Scholarship
- Omega Chapter Scholarship

These will be awarded for the first time at Leadership Institute 2008.

Two scholarships are currently fundraising in order to be endowed:

Sabrina's Sunflowers Scholarship

Stephanie Keene Fox, Epsilon (Cornell U), in Chicago is leading the effort to establish Sabrina's Sunflowers Scholarship Fund. Stephanie is not only Sabrina's AOII sister, but also her biological sister.

Sabrina Keene Dwan, Theta Beta (Towson U), died of a heart attack at age 33. She is survived by her husband and her daughter, Kiera. She spent five precious months with Kiera before passing.

During her life, Sabrina was very sensitive to the needs of others. She often wrote notes of encouragement for friends and is remembered as an extremely kind and thoughtful person. Sabrina loved being an AOII.

Sabrina was also known for her great love of sunflowers. Donors who give $25 or more to Sabrina's Sunflowers Scholarship Fund will receive a packet of sunflower seeds to plant in memory of Sabrina. Stephanie and her husband Patrick will match all donations to the scholarship fund up to ten thousand dollars. This scholarship is a fitting tribute to the life of a beloved sister.

Shirley A. Lee Memorial Scholarship

Shirley A. Lee, Lambda Sigma (U of Georgia), "loved life and strived for excellence in everything she did," said her family. "Her lifelong commitment to AOII was just one example of her desire to serve, and to do so with great joy. Shirley stood for everything AOII wants in all of our members." Breast cancer took Shirley from us in August 2002 but the memories of this very special sister will remain in our hearts forever.
